What does being part of SwaboLadies mean to us?
“Swabo has given me the opportunity to ride and race in Holland as part of a team. To experience the racing at a high level, with the knowledge and guidance of the other girls and team support. I hope to be an integral part of the team, to make friends, enjoy the hard racing and see new sights along the way. Everything is an adventure, to make the most out of each situation and enjoy the ride.”

“I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to ride for the SwaboLadies cycling team throughout the 2010 season. It is a great honour and I really hope I can perform to the best of my ability when wearing the Swabo jersey. When riding for the team I hope to gain as much experience as possible and to further my level of skill.
I aim to race as much as possible and when doing so, to really put myself out there. I want to achieve top results and I am prepared to do the hard work to get there. Cycling means a lot to me and it is something I strive to succeed in – both in the short and long term. Ultimately, I hope to ride as a professional on the European circuit. This would be the dream lifestyle. Other goals I am striving towards are Commonwealth and Olympic games in the future. I would love to represent New Zealand and gain top performances.
Riding for Swabo, I hope, will help me to become a better cyclist and herby take me a few steps closer to achieving my future goals.
While over here I aim to become an overall more confident and aggressive rider as I know this will be necessary to gain results and to really get noticed. Cycling is a big sport – especially in Europe, with a lot of participants so I understand it will be tough. Having come all the way from New Zealand I’d really like to give it my best shot – for myself and for the Swabo girls. Let’s hope all goes well’

“I am very grateful and feel very privileged to have been given the chance to ride for the SwABoLadies Cycling Team for the 2010 season. I believe that European club teams, such as SwABo, serve as the perfect launching pad towards a career in a professional trade team. They give riders, such as myself, that one shot that they have been looking for and the chance to make an impression on the European circuit. In addition, they provide their riders with a chance to develop a basic foundation and knowledge of racing which are vital tools for those starting out on the European circuit.
During my stay, I aim to get as much experience in the Dutch style of races possible and enhance my ability and strength as a cyclist. I believe that I was chosen to be part of SwABo because the management see potential in me, and I am determined to embrace this opportunity fully by constantly learning new things, listening to the advice given to me and not dwelling on my mistakes (hey, we all make them) but learning from them and becoming a world class cyclist.
In addition, I would also like to give back to the team which has given me this generous opportunity by providing them with the results necessary in order for them to continue to grow and become the professional team they hope to be. My goal is to get SwABo girls on podiums and noticed, whether it is a team mate or I – all that matters is that a hot pink jersey is getting its name out there
