The people of Sweden will surely remember SWABO from last year’s edition of the race, where the team made a great impression with earning a second place in the final stage and two places in the top ten of the general classification. This year, the Dutch-based development team is coming back for more.
Track and road prodigy Phaedra Krol will be one of six motivated riders representing SWABO. The vice-Dutch madison champion joined the team at the beginning of this season. Up until now, Krol has a blast in the team. “The atmosphere in the team is just brilliant. I’m really happy to be part of it.”
The 19-year old Krol is targeting a good result in one of the stages of the 2019 Tour of Uppsala. “Judging from the road book I especially think the first stage suits me. The final looks really hectic, but after a look at the start list I believe the top five is possible. I also think Laura van Regenmortel could do really well in the GC. This race is a big goal for her.”
“There are no big hills in this race, but the race certainly also isn’t pan-flat. It’s easy to be caught by surprise, so the key to success will be to always be alert, to make the race as a team rather than undergo it and to quickly adapt to new situations as we go along”, Krol concludes.
More information on the Tour of Uppsala can be found on the race’s website or the Facebook page. We, of course, will keep you posted about our results on social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and our website.
